Robert S. Joe
Councilmember
Councilmember Robert (Bob) Joe was elected to the City Council in November 2011.
Councilmember Joe received a B.S. in Environmental Design from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and received his M.P.A. from the University of Los Angeles. Councilmember Joe is now retired. His previous work experience includes the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California where he held several positions including Special Projects Manager, Group Manager for External Affairs and Executive Legislative Manager. Before that, Councilmember Joe was part of the United States Army Corps of Engineers for twenty three years where he held the position of Chief of Planning Division, L.A. District and Deputy District Engineer for Programs and Projects Management. He received a Department of the Army Decoration for “Exceptional Civilian Service and Superior Civilian Service Award,” and was recognized in the Congressional Record by California Congressmen Stephen Horn, Ken Calvert, and Jerry Lewis.
Councilmember Joe has a long history of community involvement. He served on the City of South Pasadena Transportation Commission, Design Advisory Group, Parks and Recreation Commission, and Freeway and Transportation Commission. He also served on the Friends of Chinatown Library Advisory Board and Chinatown Library Board of Directors. Councilmember Joe has received appointments to Door of Hope Board of Directors and the Chief of Engineers Environmental Advisory Board (Federal). Councilmember Joe is an Elder for the San Gabriel Presbyterian Church. He has also been a coach for AYSO Region 214 and Little League Girls Fast Pitch Team for over a decade. |
